Detailing
“What is detailing?”, you ask. Detailing is the thorough process of restoring a cars interior and exterior to like new condition. “Maximum Potential” is a term often used to describe the goal of the detail service. The goal, of coarse, is to clean and brighten the cars surfaces to as close to the new condition as possible. There is often a misconception that miracles happen when a a vehicle is detailed.
For example, if the interior leather is cracking, a detail is not going to repair the damage. A detail, however, may have prevented the damage or certainly extended the life span of the leather. Applying leather conditioner during a detail can aid in keeping the leather flexible during use. Our dry, Idaho climate can reek havoc on leather if regular care is not taken to keep the leather in good condition. Another misconception is that a detail service is going to remove a scratche in plastic interior panels. We often see shoe scuffs on the drivers and passengers door sills. Some markings can be “buffed” out but, others are permanent.
The exterior of a vehicle is no different. Scratches in the paint can often be sanded and/or polished out. Deep scratches down to the metal, however, will require some corrective paint repair. In most, if not all cases, prevention goes a long ways to keeping a vehicle in the best possible condition.
